Clock Time Day Timescale

Range

The Clock Time Day (CTD) timescale covers just one day of 24 hours.

Purpose

The CTD timescale is used in the layout of sundial faces where the noon hour point is to always point North or South without adjustment to account for the difference between local mean solar time and timezone mean solar time.

Function

CTD times may be calculated using the sdCTDx function.

Definition

00:00:00 on a clock = 0 CTD
01:00:00 on a clock = 0.041666... CTD

and so on, and

23:59:59:99999 on a clock = .999999999988425926 CTD
